First thing it seems to be always that people have so much unreal expectations of a yogi…I am a yogini that is committed to practice yoga everyday and that practice show us a lot about ourselves. It shows our best side as well as your hidden sides… the side that we don’t want to see or are not prepared to see because it is dark and/or ugly… How many of you/us are ready or prepared to face our dark side.. the called dark side or shadow side??? Well… its in “us”…all human beings and we all trying our best to sort things out that we carry out from childhood.
During the last two years I have done nothing much apart from examine my dark side and boy that is so painful. Can’t blame people that don’t want to do that and keep in the shallow side of things. In the other hand, the rewards also immense. The other hand of the painful process is a life much fuller, its self knowledge, self love and much more compassion and empathy towards everyone, particularly those that are suffering. So, the journey through Svadhyaya (Self-knowledge) one of the principles of yoga (virtuous observance) is a journey towards a happier you and a lesson that everyday is a blessing and we should savour every moment for it!
