“When the asana is correct there is lightness, a freedom. Freedom comes when every part of the body is active. Let us be free in whatever posture we are doing. Let us be full in whatever we do”. B. K. S. Iyengar
I aim to teach my students that yoga is not to be practiced just on the mat, and to be lived in daily lives.
I encourage people to thinking
and have a positive attitude towards life.I began my yoga practice in 1996 but it was a bit later that I found deeper meaning of yoga. Besides of being a Certified Hatha Yoga teacher and a Certified Iyengar Yoga, traditional system of teaching and practice of yoga recognized worldwide). I also hold a Certificate of Ayurveda Lifestyle Management Consultancy. I have been teaching yoga full time since 2004 on the North Shore and yoga is for me more than a practice, it is my lifestyle. My yoga journey has taken me to study with senior teachers from New Zealand, Australia, India and Brazil and also to travel to India few times. Sofia, my daughter, 13 years young, is a very important part of that journey.
My teacher , Pixie Lillas, Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher from Sydney, Australia inspire me for the richness of her knowledge but also for her compassion towards her students. She suggest exploration and Integration in our yoga practice.
“Marcia’s ability to read your body and refine accordingly your yoga postures to their absolute optimum position coupled with her incredible shared spiritual energy and wisdom make for an amazing experience in her classes.” R. Lome (Financial Controller)
“I began my yoga journey in Scotland when I was at University, and I am still on that journey today. I became a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in 1983. Yoga brings clarity, peace, strength and endurance into my life. I consider it a privilege to be able to practice and learn every day, and an even greater privilege to pass on to others the light that yoga brings into my life”.
I began my personal yoga practice in 2001 searching for “something” to help me manage a stressful professional career and the impact this was having on my health and wellbeing. I have studied yoga for over 10 years with Marcia and can truly say she has been a source of inspiration and encouragement on my yoga path. It’s been a journey that has profoundly impacted
my wellbeing and life culminating in my decision to undertake teacher training earlier this year. I undertook my teacher training in beautiful Ubud, Bali, with Linda Midani from Intuitive Flow (R.Y.T 500).
Yoga gifts me a place of peace, harmony and calm from the busyness of life and I am very excited to be able to share this wonderful healing practice.

“Marcia has been my primary teacher for many years. She has a keen enquiring mind, a deep understanding of the structure, function and interaction of mind and body and is constantly extending this understanding through dedicated practice and study. Marcia has remarkable powers of observation and understands and attends to each of her students as unique individuals“. David Hoadley
“It still amazes me how Marcia can teach a class of both new people to yoga and more experienced students but we all experience each pose at our own level and capability. Marcia is very calm and gentle but manages to help us all to extend our practice each time we go”. M. O’Kane
